SPSC Ocean Series - Pittwater DW

******* FOIL DIVISION UPDATE 28 MAY *******
With conditions looking perfect for the “Ocean Series – Bay 2 Bay” on the weekend, there has been a ton of interest in the Foiling division with solid registrations already.

Everything will be covered in detail at the 2:15pm safety briefing at Bayview reserve on Saturday, however, below is a quick general race outline for the Foil division for Saturday’s Bay 2 Bay.

All Foilers are required to wear a PFD, Board (and Wing if applicable), Leashes and we recommend the wearing of helmets.

The start will be approximately 1km down wind of Bayview reserve to ensure greater exposure to the wind and bumps (roughly just north of the RMYC).

A drifting start line will be visually held by our starting jet ski between the RED (Port) shallow water marker at Salt Pan Point and Church Point.

All Foilers (including Wingers) will form a line SITTING on their boards (wings in the water) and await the 1x (one) and only solid whistle sounding by the jet ski signifying the start. This will happen once the ski is happy the line is fair.

The course is approximately 7.5km to the finish line at Station Beach northside of the beach house.

Confirmed at the race briefing will be a finishing marker used for a “deep” water finish to avoid injury or damage due to shallow waters at low tide.

Please be on time for registration and setup well prior to the safety briefing on Saturday.
