2021-22 Race Series Rules

This season race series will grow as events are announced. If there are no events in a month, we will run our own. If the local events are run, we will announce and use those.

The total number of races in season is to be confirmed depending on restrictions and available races.

Pointscore

• All races have points allocated with these same calculation:
• 1st - 100, 2nd - 99, 3rd - 98, 4th - 97, etc.
• DNF = 0 points
• 50% of races will count in the point score. For example, if we end up with 16 races, your top 8 will count. 
• For races that included non-SPSC members - points will be awarded to the entire SUP field regardless of whether competitors are SPSC members or not. Accordingly, an SPSC member's pointscore result will be affected by the performance of a non member. For example if a non member won the SUP race then he/she would get 100 points. If an SPSC member came second then he/she would get 99 points.

Sunday October 23 - SPSC WSS SUP-X at Balmoral  SPSC SERIES RACE 3

Sunday November 20 - SPSC WSS SUP-X at Balmoral SPSC SERIES RACE 4

Saturday December 3 - Tech Race at Brownwater SPSC SERIES RACE 5

SPSC Akuna Bay 5k Challenge (UPDATED TO INCLUDE DECEMBER!) SPSC SERIES RACE 6
During October - November  December we will hold the SPSC Akuna Bay 5k Challenge. Paddle as many 5ks as you can during these months to get your PB, and submit your times to the leaderboard. If you can't get to Akuna Bay, you can submit a 5k time from your local waterway (2.5k out turn and 2.5k back, no drafting, no breaks). For those that can make it to Akuna Bay, we plan to get a group each Sunday morning (when other events are not on) to post a time together). Keep an eye out on updates on this closer to the date. PB times at the end of the 2-month period will result in the Akuna Bay Leaderboard and will count as one club race in our pointscore.
